Statement
We have consistently created spatial works which have local and international significance by striving to push the boundaries of common practice in architecture.
Our projects are generated by starting with a thorough and precise analysis of the existing situation. This reveals the inherent potential and helps us to form a strong concept which we then follow through in stages until the concept is materialised. KHBT are fully involved in the whole building process, down to each detail. As trained joiners we also develop and construct various elements, for example the facade at Haus Berge.
KHBT was set up by Karsten Huneck and Bernd Truempler in London and Berlin in 2009. In the same year they were runners up of for the UK’s prestigious Young Architects of the Year Award (YAYA), gaining the first ever special commendation. Karsten and Bernd have both been Associate Professors at the ESA, Ecole Special d’architecture in Paris since 2008.
KHBT is one of a number of entries recently added to our Directory of Architects and Designers.
