The much-anticipated re-opening of London’s Design Museum is just around the corner, with its public unveiling taking place next week, on the 24 November.
We were lucky enough to be invited for a sneak preview of the space, so our Marketing Coordinator, Emma, went along yesterday to explore the #emptydesignmuseum.
The museum is now housed in the former Commonwealth Institute, a 1960s building on Kensington High Street with a distinctive hyperbolic paraboloid roof that dips dramatically at its centre, and a striking glass facade. The interior has been completely redesigned by John Pawson, and centres around a wonderfully minimal oak and marble atrium, which offers a spectacular view of the interior of the roof.
