On this radio show, produced by Monitor Production in Sound, presenter John Escolme encounters the work of modernist architect Wells Coates, best known for his Lawn Road Flats scheme in Belsize Park. On the show Matt Black, Coates’ grandson, and one half of music-duo Coldcut, recalls his grandfather’s life. Director of design chain Skandium Magnus Englund, who lives in the penthouse flat at Lawn Road and runs the Isokon Gallery there, talks about the finer points of the extraordinary building. The show, first broadcast on Monday on Resonance FM, can be streamed through the Monitor Production in Sound website.
