Mexican architect and painter Juan O’Gorman constructed this property in Mexico City in 1929, when he was just 24. It is widely considered to be the first functionalist house in Latin America.
O’Gorman’s design is based on his belief that the functionalism of the house should not be compromised for aesthetics, so all functional elements – including the striking concrete staircase – are in sight.
