This article is more than a year old and may contain information that is out of date. Sorry about that.
Inspired by termite nests, this house in central Vietnam was designed by local firm Tropical Space, and completed in 2014. The intricate façade, which is constructed in traditional baked-brick, features gaps to allow for natural ventilation. Internally, terrazzo tiles and polished concrete ceilings help to cool the house further, which is essential in Vietnam’s tropical climate.
