House of the Day: Tropical House by Alberto Zavala Arquitectos

This eco-house, located in Tabasco, Mexico, is composed of a series of staggered prisms which align with the natural contours of the land.

The single tree standing behind the house – a West Indian elm, native to tropical America – pre-existed the property and was incorporated into the design as a focal point for the project.
