This article is more than a year old and may contain information that is out of date. Sorry about that.
On a recent visit to ‘Out There‘ at Somerset House, I was prompted to look a little more closely at the German-born artist and designer Bernard Schottlander. He is the creator of an elegant series of lamps that are still in production but also a sculptor of some stature. He lived and worked in the UK for many years and created a number of sculptures in public spaces such as housing estates, some of which are now listed by Historic England. I really like his bold, brazen approach and the rich red that he favours in much of his work.
