This article is more than a year old and may contain information that is out of date. Sorry about that.
ARCA, the Archive for Rural Contemporary Architecture, is a project we are supporting and encourage you to support too through kickstarter.com
The project will be an Open Access online archive of initially 35 strange twentieth century structures from all over the UK. ARCA have been surveying, collating and photographing the UK’s often overlooked and unsung twentieth century rural architectural sites over the past four years. They are now almost ready to launch their website and a print publication that captures some of the lesser-known histories of the period in built form. The online archive will be designed so users can add new sites and engage in discussions about how to re-use and preserve these relics. Many of the buildings relate to national defence, and a bygone paranoia. In return for your support ARCA have arranged some excellent rewards, for more information and to support the project please visit: ARCA
