February 22nd, 2016

This article is more than a year old and may contain information that is out of date. Sorry about that.

Last Friday, Zaha Hadid became the ninth architect to feature on Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.

On the episode, which is available to listen to on BBC iPlayer, she discussed her childhood in Baghdad and her previous work, which includes the Heydar Aliyev Center and the London Aquatics Centre.

Her diverse selection of songs included Al Atlal by Umm Kulthum and Hotline Bling, by Drake.

Previous architectural castaways have included Frederick Gibberd, Denys Lasdun and Daniel Libeskind.
