This article is more than a year old and may contain information that is out of date. Sorry about that.
This week’s What we’re Reading isn’t really something to read, although it can be as well, but it’s a recommendation to listen to 99% Invisible – as it describes itself, ‘A tiny radio show about design, architecture & the 99% invisible activity that shapes our world.’ Based in San Francisco, the radio station explores some of the minutest things that shape our environments, and uses the voices of everyone who interacts with these places. It takes topics such as block housing, staircases, windows and signposts in places from the United States to Poland and China. Although the station airs in San Francisco, all of the episodes can be listened to online. Particularly recommended are episodes 75 and 66 about secret staircases and Kowloon Walled City (the densest housing in the world). Visit: 99% Invisible
