What We're Seeing: London Design Festival

The London Design Festival has been taking place across the city this week, with a plethora of events showcasing the best in contemporary design and architecture from the UK and beyond. With plenty of events and exhibitions still to come this weekend we’ve put together a list of highlights below, and you can check out the full programme here.

Architects’ Visions for London @ Case Furniture

South London’s Case Furniture will host an exhibition for architectural models, showcasing contemporary, innovative visions for London from the likes of John Pawson, Stiff+Trevillion and Zaha Hadid Architects.

Living in the office by Giles Round @ Architecture Gallery

A site-specific commission at RIBA’s Architecture Gallery by Giles Round. Using RIBA’s collections as a style book, the project questions our understandings of cities and spaces by turning the gallery into a live production site and shop for architectural artefacts.

The Chair, In A Room, In A House @ four23

Using the words of Eliel Saarinen as a starting point, later adopted by Charles and Ray Eames, ‘The Chair, In a Room, In a House’ is an immersive experience exploring the relationship between our physical surroundings and our ability to think, dream and create.

Plastic Ernö: Michael Marriott @ 2 Willow Road

To celebrate 20 years of Goldfinger’s 2 Willow Road being open to the public, designer Michael Marriott created Ernö – a wall-mounted coat hook. Marriott’s work takes inspiration from the fluidity of Goldfinger’s work and the exhibition charts the hook’s design and manufacturing process.
