This article is more than a year old and may contain information that is out of date. Sorry about that.
My interest in Postmodern architecture was recently reignited by a debate I attended called ‘Ornament is Crime is Crime’. I came away thinking about the importance of colour, decoration and ornamentation in architecture.
Twentieth Century Society have given us another opportunity to learn more about Postmodern architecture. On Saturday 7th May they are hosting a walk around Bermondsey and the City of London, an area where POMO was the predominant style in the late 80s and early 90s.
Highlights will probably include Pier Gough’s ‘Circle’ and Terry Farrell’s 76 Fenchurch Street as seen here.
The group is meeting outside Bermondsey Jubilee Line Station at 2.30pm.
