This article is more than a year old and may contain information that is out of date. Sorry about that.
At the end of last year, Historic England (formerly English Heritage) launched a campaign to track down missing pieces public art, mostly believed lost or stolen.
At the end of last month it was also announced that 41 post-WWII sculptures across England had been listed, mostly at Grade II or Grade II*
The campaign continues in 2016 with a new exhibition at Somerset House, entitled Out There.
It follows ‘the fates and fortunes’ of work created by artists like Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore for public spaces, in the period 1945-1985.
Curated by Sarah Gaventa, the exhibition is part of Somerset House’s Utopia 2016 season.
There will also be a number of events and tours led by the Twentieth Century Society to mark the exhibition.
