This Mid-Century Modern house in New Canaan, Connecticut, was built in 1963 by German-born architect Ulrich Franzen. The 5500 sq ft brick pavilion house has multiple glass walls, looking onto the adjacent New Canaan Nature Centre and the New Canaan Land Trust. The five-bedroom house features a sunken living room, interior brick walls, wood rafters and hardwood floor tiling, and is set on nine acres of lawns, meadows, orchards and woods. Franzen is revered for his powerful forms and Brutalist style. The house, which has only had one owner to date, is currently on the market for $5,500,000.
