John Lautner designed this Palm Springs property for interior designer Arthur Elrod in 1968. Described as ‘timeless’ architecture by Lautner, the design centres around organic shapes and monumental construction, most strikingly the domed roof of the living room which fans out in nine petals.
The distinctive property is widely recognised, perhaps most notably as the home of Bond villain Willard Whyte in the 1971 movie Diamonds Are Forever.
It’s on the market with Nelson-Moe Properties.
