Studio House by Tom Kundig, in Seattle, Washington, was built in 1998 and is viewed as his breakthrough project. Designed as a home and photographer’s studio, it reuses materials from the previous house that existed on the site, and introduces new raw materials such as concrete and structural steel. The main house features large walls of glass, while the stairs, fireplace, light fixtures and hardware are made of metal. The two-storey living room/studio has a curved roof that serves as a large reflector for diffusing natural and artificial light. The house is currently on the market for $3,995,000.
