History

The house at Mathon was designed by Architype, arguably the country's foremost architects specialising in sustainable design. With offices in London and in Herefordshire, the practice, led by Jonathan Hines and Bob Hayes, has over 55 staff and has a track record of over 30 years experience in sustainable design. They have won numerous prestigious awards over the years including RIBA Sustainability Awards, Sustainable Architect of the Year awards and RIBA Design Awards.

Sustainable features at the house at Mathon include underfloor heating with a mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system, extensive insulation, triple glazing in parts and a recently installed green roof.
