"High-quality finishes and fittings introduce subtle colour and tactility"
The 1930s façade of this four-bedroom house in Cricklewood, north London, gives way to a meticulous renovation by architects Bureau de Change. The practice took inspiration, in part, from Cricklewood's former aerodrome, creating a set of playful, aeronautical features that include a staircase with propeller blade-shaped treads. In total, the house stretches to just shy of 1,860 sq ft and is bookended by beautifully planted gardens at the front and rear, the latter by the landscape artist Haruko Seki of Studio Lasso. Cricklewood station is a short walk from the house and runs Northern line services to King's Cross St Pancras in approximately 13 minutes.
