House of the Day: Zufferey House by Nunatak Sàrl Architectes

Completed in Valais, Switzerland, in 2003, this house was designed to look like a stone block balanced on the ground.

It sits to the north side of the L’Ardévaz mountain, with a sloping roof designed to echo the gradient of the surrounding landscape.
