Sleeps: 8 (+ 2 infants)
This holiday property designed by local architect George Grey is situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, famous for its rolling hills and valleys. Built in 1962 at the centre of Ashford-in-the Water, one of the most photographed villages in the country, the house is a fine example of Mid-Century Modernism and offers a luxurious and peaceful holiday retreat.
Internally, the accommodation consists of four double bedrooms, each sleeping two people. Three of the rooms can be configured as doubles or singles. In addition two travel cots can be provided for infant guests. There are four bath/shower rooms and a separate WC; two are ensuite. There is a large, well-equipped kitchen, and a separate utility room. The living area is open plan and flows beautifully from the kitchen around the side, and across the front of the house. The kitchen looks onto the day room, which provides a breakfast bar onto the kitchen, and plenty of comfortable seating. The day room flows into the dining room, which flows into the beautiful sitting room where the huge floor-to-ceiling windows and doors give views across the gardens down to the river. All four bedrooms also have views of the garden. There is an entrance hall with a desk suitable for working, and a coat and boot cupboard. There is also a games room with pool and table football.
