This free Living Suburbs: Getting to Copenhagen conference is designed as a forum to discuss London’s potential to increase the number of cyclists cycling to work by making streets around the capital more pedestrian and cyclist friendly. With speakers from Denmark, and drawing upon the methods used in the last thirty years by other Scandinavian countries as well as the Netherlands, the conference will address what needs to be done to change peoples’ attitudes to cycling in the city. Speakers will share their experience with practitioners and London policy makers to compare approaches, and agree what action needs to be taken. This conference could change Londoners’ current dependence on railways and cars to travel to work.
