Attitudes towards energy-efficient homes are changing, it has emerged, with people placing greater value on energy ratings.
Research shows that houses with high ratings for energy performance sell more quickly than they did in 2010, The Sunday Telegraph reports.
Slip House by Carl Turner, currently on the market with The Modern House, has achieved a rare 5 rating in The Code for Sustainable Homes and a remarkable A rating on its Energy Performance Certificate.
Its credentials are achieved through features such as triple glazing, PV-T panels (generating both hot water and heating) and wildflower roofs.
Paddock House, also currently on the market with The Modern House , has built-in eco technologies including a carbon-negative solid timber-panel superstructure, sedum roof, photovoltaic panels, solar panels that generate up to 60% of the hot-water requirement, and a heat-recovery ventilation system.
