This article is more than a year old and may contain information that is out of date. Sorry about that.
Domaine de Boisbuchet is a picturesque 19th-century estate in rural France. Its summer workshops have become an annual destination for architects, artists and designers who are curious about new experiences in their practice. Participants take part in designing and making, tutors give presentations about their work, and there are shared dinners in the evenings. The grounds contain a number of architectural follies, including a paper pavilion by Shigeru Ban.
My wife, Faye Toogood, is one of the course leaders this year. Her workshop is entitled ‘Soft Goods’ (3-9 July 2016), and will explore the notion of softness in shape, material, touch and volume. It will encompass fashion, furniture, sculpture and installation, reflecting Faye’s multi-disciplinary approach to design. To find out more, visit the Boisbuchet website.
