This 7th floor, single-level penthouse located in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles is for sale for $1,499,000. Designed by California-based architects Aleks Istanbullu, the loft apartment is part of a former toy factory and has been designed with dividing walls that are flexible enough for different owners to mould their own home out of the large free space. The loft has two bedrooms and features high ceilings, concrete columns, refurbished steel framed windows and a polished concrete floor. Despite its hard materiality, the apartment displays a lightness and dream-like quality unusual to a loft. The penthouse includes use of rooftop gardens, a pool and on-site parking.
