Midcentury furniture expert Lucy Ryder Richardson’s new book – ‘100 Midcentury Chairs’ – showcases the most interesting, controversial and beautiful chairs from the Midcentury era.
Showcasing 100 of the best European, Scandinavian, Japanese and American designs, the book includes iconic pieces from Robin Day, Charles and Ray Eames, Ernest Race and Arne Jacobsen, among others.
As well as exploring the materials, craftsmanship and manufacturing processes of the chairs, the book contains interviews with the children and relatives of the designers, offering a unique insight into the story behind their production.
The title is available from today, 10 November, from Pavilion Books.
